I love your illustrations. As a writer of stories for children, I’d like to be able to exchange links with you. My story website: Grandma Tell Me A Story was created for children who love to listen to stories & fairytales. And for those who believe that one of the best ways to teach morality, ethics, and compassion to children, is to touch their heart and capture their imagination by entertaining them with a good story.
With the exception of my version of “Goldilocks & the Three Bears,” (the first story I told my granddaughter)
All other stories and their accompanying activities and lesson plans,
are my own original creations.
Children are invited to submit illustrations of their favorite tales from my site, so they can see their own and other children’s art in the gallery.
As an artist and writer, I believe the most important function of the arts is to inspire the imagination, so the mind can enter the world of possibility where all forms of invention are born.
People, who as children learn to question, to visualize and to be independent, creative thinkers, are our greatest defense against tyranny.
Thanks Indigene, Erich and Laura!
Erich, your comment gives me pause. In a way, I wish I could do Shapeshifter Tarot again, but at the same time it documents my beginnings and the rather innocent approach I took when I embarked on that project. Nearly 20 years later, I see the world with clearer eyes and interpret my surrounds with a more fluid palette. I hope my desire to go deeper has translated into works that reflect continued growth and willingness to journey into new artistic territory. Some of my favorite artists/heroes are/were individuals who did just that. It makes me wonder what will be 20 years from now.
Wow! So amazing… I love the Brother’s Grimm feel of it! That first piece is “Off the Chain” fantastic! I can’t wait to see it painted (if you do that is). It’s a stand alone classic whether you do or don’t. I’m a firm believer in getting older puts meat on the artistic bones.
Maybe you should re-do the Shapeshifter Tarot (or do a sequel deck). I love the original Shapeshifter Tarot, but your art has grown tremendously since then — I would love to see what you’d come up with for a Shapeshifter deck now!
Love these… as I love all your work! The Swan one is just beautiful
