Sometimes I work on art orders for lisahuntart.com, other days I work on my blog or mingle with my online buddies. But if I get sucked into a total art-focused groove that pretty much takes over the brain, overshadowing all else until I express what needs to be expressed…

For the first time since I started my blog 5 years ago, I took a month off from posting. I didn’t stop painting, I didn’t stop filling lisahuntart orders, I didn’t stop playing piano and I certainly didn’t stop being mom, family woman and friend. Believe it or not, I studied Computer Animation in the 1990s. Back then, it was an adventurous pursuit for the few brave who dared to make it their major in Art School. I was already trained in traditional art, but was fascinated by the prospects of bringing art to animated life.

Ghosts & Spirits Tarot has been generating lots of positive buzz around the blogosphere. I’m delighted to see such a diversity of perspectives from an impressive roster of reviewers. I had learned a long time ago never to be overly expectant about how others will respond to my work because it is nearly impossible to predict.

I just mailed out the last of Holiday orders—drawing right up until the last possible moment to assure delivery of goodies. I can happily report that I have completed and mailed almost 40 Spirit Drawings in the last few months. What a ride and what a great way to keep everything energized in the studio!…

When the fed ex guy dropped off a fat box from my art director at U.S. Games, my happy dance alarm threw me into a whirl as I quickly tore into its contents. Out came the final Ghosts & Spirits Tarot manuscript, card back designs, card art and the long-awaited cover designs. It is hard to describe how one feels when one first lays eyes on pieces of production, but it is similar to seeing one’s artwork or earned award newly framed and hanging on the wall…
